Application

Who can apply for the Hong Kong - Asia Financing Forum (HAF)?
- The HAF is open to full length feature fictional film projects with Asian elements or Asian in key creative roles such as directors and producers that are looking for co-producers, investors, sales agents and funders.

Can I submit more than one project?
- Yes, you can submit more than one project. Each must be accompanied with a separate application form and fee.

I submitted my project in the past but it was not selected. Can I submit it again?
- Projects previously submitted to the HAF that were not selected may re-apply only IF there is a significant change to the project, which must be clearly identified during the application process. Usually preference will be given to new projects.

Can I submit a project that has already been submitted to or selected by other project markets?
- Yes, but projects that have not participated in other project markets would be our priority.

Is there any restriction on genre type?
- No.

Do I have to provide Chinese materials for an English-language project?
- No.

I want to submit my project to HAF. Do I need a full script or a treatment to be considered?
- To apply for IDP initiative, a full script is not necessary, but a treatment is required.
  
  To apply for WIP initiative, both full script and treatment are not necessary, but a film footage of 3-10 minutes is required.
  
  Applicants are encouraged to submit as much additional information as possible in order to aid our reading committee to assess your project(s).

Do I need to prepare a detailed budget?
- We require all applicants to fill in a detailed breakdown of their budget in the submission form.

Is there any limitation on budget requirement?
- No.

Is there any requirement on the amount of secured budget, or at least some budget has already been secured for my project?
- No.

Can I modify my submission after it has been submitted?
- Yes. Once you finish Part 1 of the online submission system, you will receive an auto-email from HAF with instructions that specify how to log-in back to your submission. You will be able to edit your application within 5 calendar days starting from the date you successfully finish Part 1. Please note that if you submit your project within 5 days before the submission deadline, you will have fewer than 5 days to modify your submission. Once the revision period has passed, applicants can only view but not edit the application.

How do I know if my submission is complete?
- Your submission is considered complete once the submission form has been filled out in its entirety and payment has been received by HAF. A confirmation email will be sent, and the online submission system will also show you the application status when you log back in to your submission.

Will I receive any feedback if my film project is not selected?
- Unfortunately, due to the large volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to offer you individual feedback on your project.

What is MYSELLPAY?
- MYSELLPAY is HAF's authorized service provider to handle online payment for the HKIFF Industry Online Submission System. MYSELLPAY accepts online payments made by Credit Card(VISA, MasterCard, Unionpay and American Express), ApplePay, FPS, Payme, Paypal, Alipay and Wechat Pay.

How do I pay my submission fee if I don't have a credit card or other online payment method?
- You can pay by FPS or PayMe in Hong Kong or transfer overseas with a Telegraphic Transfer.

Offical Selection

When and how can I learn the results?
- The project line-up will be announced in our website and social media platforms around early February 2025. The contact person of the selected projects will be notified through his/ her email address provided in the application. Award winners will be announced at the HAF Award Ceremony on 19 March 2025.
