The fall in cardamom price in the mountain village of Darjeeling brings instability to nine-year-old Guras' life. Adding to the chaos, her pet dog Tinkle goes missing. Despite the looming fear of a loose leopard, a faint dog bark from across the valley brings her some hope. She embarks on a journey which soon turns mystical as she meets unworldly beings along the way.
Saurav Rai is an alumnus of the Satyajit Ray Film and TV Institute. His diploma film Nest (2016) was the official selection at the 69th Cannes Cinefondation. His debut feature film Invitation (2019) had its international premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam’s Bright Future category and won the Grand Jury Prize at Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2019. As a part of the Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum’s Work-in-Progress section, Invitation also won the HAF Goes to Cannes Award. Guras, his sophomore feature, received the Hubert Bals Fund for project development in 2021.
A Nepali producer best known for winning an Outstanding Short Sports Doc Emmy Award for A Mountain to Climb (2017). His feature production, The Red Phallus (2018), won the production grant at Open Doors Hub at Locarno. It won the FIPRESCI Award at Busan International Film Festival 2018 and competed for the Crystal Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival 2019.
The founder of Crawling Angel Films, Gulati produced Pushpendra Singh’s The Honour Keeper (2014), which premiered at the Forum section of the Berlin International Film Festival.
