Typical Northeast girl Xu Lingling believes in love and family, but her life breaks down when she gets uremia. Will she be able to find a home where she belongs?
In Northeast China, Shenyang is a decaying city. There is a 25-year-old girl Xu Lingling who longs for the warmth of a family, but her life collapses when she suffers from uremia. Due to her illness, her philandering father returns home. Her best friends Tan Na and Zhao Dongyang, who have both hit rough patches in their respective lives, become her companions in misery. One day, Lingling decides to hit the road with Na and Dongyang. Their journey reveals the complexities of human nature and human emotions in this vast world.
Liang Ming is a director, scriptwriter and actor. His acting credits include Spring Fever (2009), Shadow Days (2014) and Ripples of Life (2021). His feature directorial debut Wisdom Tooth (2020) won the Fei Mu Award for Best Director and the Roberto Rossellini Jury Award at the 3rd Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival; Best Director at the 44th Hong Kong International Film Festival’s Firebird Award competition; and the 29th Shanghai Film Critics Association Award for Best New Director. He was also nominated for Best New Director at the 14th Asian Film Awards.
Wu is a film programmer and producer who works as a programmer of Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival and a programme scout for International Film Festival Rotterdam.
Zhang is the producer of The Summer Is Gone (2017), which won the Golden Horse Awards for Best Feature Film and Best New Actor. Zhang also produced Stars Await Us (2020), an official selection at the 4th Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival.
