HKIFF Collection Updates
Ishii Yuya’s just completed ALL THE THINGS WE NEVER SAID, jointly produced by the HKIFFS and Heaven Pictures Hong Kong, will world premiere as the Opening Film of the 42nd PIA Film Festival in Tokyo on September 12.
A mènage-à-trois with unique Ishii Yuya vision and sensibilities on love and friendship, ALL THE THINGS WE NEVER SAID tells the story of a young women and her two friends. The best of friends in high school, the woman later marries one of the friends. But fate decides to deal the marriage an unkind hand. The other friend looks on in horror as the marriage disintegrates, and tries to salvage what may still be salvageable.
The three friends are played by Nakano Taiga, Wakaba Ryuya and Oshima Yuko, three of Japan’s most promising rising stars.
After its world premiere at the #PIA Film Festival, the film will start touring the international film festival circuit in the fall. Fans of Ishii Yuya please do look out for film’s dates in Hong Kong!
【B2B A Love Supreme】
ALL THE THINGS WE NEVER SAID is the first completed feature in the 6-title series “B2B A Love Supreme”, put together by #HeavenPictures Hong Kong and the #HKIFFS. The other five participating filmmakers are Tsai Ming-Liang from Taiwan, Tan Chui Mui from Malaysia, Zhang Lu and Yang Jin from China, and Hong Kong’s Philip Yung.
